About the GPA Calculator
What is GPA?
GPA, or Grade Point Average, is a standard way to measure academic achievement in the U.S. It condenses your grades from various courses into a single, meaningful number. This tool helps you calculate your GPA on a standard 4.0 scale.
How It Works
- Enter Your Courses: Add each course you've taken. You can give them names for clarity, but it's optional.
- Assign Grades: Select the letter grade you received for each course. This tool uses a standard scale (e.g., A=4.0, B=3.0).
- Input Credits: Enter the credit hours for each course. Credits represent the "weight" of a course; a 4-credit course has more impact on your GPA than a 1-credit course.
- Calculate: The tool multiplies the grade points by the credit hours for each course to get "quality points," sums them up, and then divides by your total credit hours to find your GPA.
